In keeping with Aaron's last song, here's another underrated song from the 60s. Apparently the record company wanted a hit single and the singer was so mad that he wrote what he thought was the most generic and bad song to prove the record company wrong. And he ended up writing this song. Look at the outfits and the haircuts. Also, the drummer is definitely trying to steal the show and failing.
Full disclosure: The two singers went on to sing with Frank Zappa so Dave please tell me I only like it because of Zappa. Also, Zappa said this about the two singers: "I regard Howard as a fine singer and Mark as a great tambourine player and fat person." You figure out which one is which.

This song is awesome. The chorus is sooo fucking good.
Zappa was right... That guy is really good at playing the tambourine!!!
This song is really good. Who knew the lead singer of the Turtles was a slightly overweight 40 something mustachioed guy with a combover. His voice would lead you to think that he is the polar opposite of himself.
Gould, you're my pride and joy et cetera
